Eur-Opera: A Collaborative European Initiative in Writing and Producing a Children's Opera (SIP035)
This project involved the creation and production of an original children's opera on a common theme relevant to the age and cultures of the participating children.

Project Aims
 
  • To use ICT to facilitate the development of a pan-European project.
  • To engage pupils in collaborative learning while extending their knowledge and understanding of music composition, sequencing and scoring, set and costume design.
  • To encourage pupils to critically analyse their own work and the work of the pupils in the collaborating schools.
  • To produce, in collaboration with the partner schools, an opera on an agreed theme.
  • Indicative Outcomes
     
  • Identification of the most appropriate use of ICT in developing collaborative projects.
  • Evaluation of the suitability of ICT as a tool in sharing resources and exchanging ideas will be evaluated.
  • Increased awareness of the European dimension of pupils' education.
  • Enhancement of pupils' confidence and self-esteem.
