Integrating English and ICT (SIP011)
A project that focused on increasing the ICT skills and knowledge of teachers and pupils, as well as promoting email use and website development as a primary means of communication between participant schools.

Project Aims
  • To carry out a needs analysis in the areas of curriculum, pedagogy, resource materials and IT skills.
  • To research and develop resource materials for teaching the new English Leaving Certificate course and for the present Junior Certificate English course using pedagogies appropriate to achieving the aims of the project.
  • To develop a training programme for the use of ICT in education.
Indicative Outcomes
  • Establishing the ICT needs of the participating schools in relation to teaching English.
  • Development of training programmes relevant to the participating teachers.
  • Production of pedagogic strategies, curriculum materials and training resources.
