Language Development Using ICT (SIP014)
This project developed a model for using ICT to teach languages at post-primary level which included pedagogic approaches, evaluation of existing materials and the development of teaching resources.

Project Aims
  • The development of a model for teaching languages using ICT which includes pedagogic approaches, evaluation of existing materials and the development of teaching resources for using ICT in teaching languages at post-primary level.
  • To provide opportunities for students to experience new learning techniques, including collaborative learning.
  • To raise the ICT skills of teachers and students.
Indicative Outcomes
  • The use of ICT as an engagement tool in the teaching of languages.
  • Evaluation of the advantages of using the new technologies compared to more traditional methods.
  • Identification and evaluation of suitable software for language teaching.
  • The use of the Internet as a resource in language teaching and learning.
