Integrating ICT and Mathematics in the Primary Curriculum (SIP008)
This project identified and exploited the advantages of hand-held technology for teaching and learning mathematics as well as providing teachers with the skills needed to make use of the technology in the classroom.

Project Aims
  • To identify and exploit the advantages of hand-held technology for teaching and learning mathematics.
  • To provide teachers with the skills needed to make use of the technology in the classroom, particularly in the context of the Irish curriculum.
Indicative Outcomes
  • Development of support materials for using hand-held technology that are suited to the needs of the Irish curriculum.
  • Establishment of national and international educational networks in order to develop good practice in the use of ICT in support of mathematics teaching and learning.
  • Establishment of partnership networks with the community, industry and business.
