Extension of ICT Awareness and Integration of ICT into General Subject Areas (SIP038)
This project explored the integration of ICT as a teaching and learning tool and aimed to develop an awareness of the potential of ICT in different curricular areas such as music, art, science, languages and history.

Project Aims
 
  • To integrate ICT into diverse subject areas.
  • To develop an awareness of the potential of ICT as a teaching and learning tool in different curricular areas.
  • To develop and evaluate pedagogic approaches to using ICT in general curricular areas.
  • To provide a model for integration of ICT that can be replicated.
  • Indicative Outcomes
     
  • Exposure of participating students and staff to relevant ICT resources and approaches in the selected subject areas.
  • Documentation of issues relating to the management and use of an extended LAN in the school setting.
  • Examination of models for extending school networks and integration of ICT into the wider curriculum.
  • St Oliver's Community College to act as an exemplar of good practice in using ICT in education and provide a model for integration of ICT into general subjects in a large second-level school.
