Using the Collaborative Software "FirstClass" as a Communication Tool (SIP081)
This project aims to use and evaluate the collaborative software "FirstClass" in post-primary schools in Ennis. It is intended that students will use collaborative group email and develop a multimedia project on agreed themes.

  • Improved communication/collaboration between participating schools.
  • Improved overall communication within each school.
  • Provision of a complimentary learning and assessment resource to the classroom.
  • Improved ICT skills among teachers and students.
  • Enhancement of parent-teacher communication.
  • Integration of many curricular areas.
  • Use of FirstClass as a cross-curricular teaching tool.
  • Indicative Outcomes
     
  • Development of website and/or CD-ROM for at least two subjects.
  • Evaluation of a method of assessing students work using Powerpoint presentations as a medium.
  • Demonstration of how ICT can be incorporated into at least two subjects and in the process improve all participants' ICT skills.
