St Senan's Boys National School

King's Island,

Limerick

St. Senan's Boys' National School is located in the oldest part of Limerick City - Kings' Island. The area includes historic buildings such as King John's Castle and St. Mary's Cathedral.

Our pupils range in age from 9 years to 13 years old. The boys generally come from St. Mary's Boys' National School, which is located across the Island Road from us.

Our school has currently an enrolment of 68 pupils. It is designated disadvantaged under the Department of Education and Science scheme to alleviate educational disadvantage. Many of our pupils come from local authority housing estates.

There is a very strong sense of community in our area and the school is used by a wide variety of local groups.

Tom O'Sullivan,
