Limerick Golf Club

Limerick Golf Club is located in Ballyclough Co. Limerick just 200m from our school.The golf club dates back to 1891. A meeting was held in the Royal Theatre on December 11th 1891. Alexander Shaw was elected Chairman.

The present club house is built on the site of Roxborough Castle. The course started out as a 9 hole course but is now an 18 hole with a par of 72.

In July 2000 many famous golfers and celebrities turned up at the golf club to play in the J.P. McManus invitational Pro-am. Among the celebrities were Tiger Woods, David Duval, Mark O' Meara, Stuart Appleby, Darren Clarke and Padraig Harrington. Tiger Woods set a new course record of 64 and went on to win the competition.
