Six Limerick schools from a variety of backgrounds were selected to participate in this SIP Project. The schools were carefully selected so as to ensure that a broad cross-section of schools were represented. This it was hoped would enrich and enhance the research results. Two rural, three urban and one suburban school were included.Three of the schools could be classified as serving the needs of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. Four of the schools were co-educational with one all girls and one all boys class included. The schools varied in size from under 70 pupils to over 400 pupils.
