When were the Céide fields discovered?

The Céide fields were only discovered in 1981, even though they were there since the stone age. It was all buried under the bogs in north Mayo so they couldn't be seen at all.

When the archaeologists came to the Céide Fields, they discovered one of the oldest farming settlements of the Western world, even older that the pyramids themselves.
