This program is intended to test spelling and vocabular by using interactive flash cards which appear on screen. It pertains to written skills only. Although the program has a multi-language facility, it is designed to be used by first language users; eg. to consodidate Italian children's spelling in their own language. It is not suitable for use by children attempting to learn a second language for the following reasons;

• It does not attempt to discover vocabulary. It merely reinforces spelling words already known
• Since it is targeted towards native speaker use, the program assumes fluency in the language.
• The program focuses on written skills while our emphasis is on speaking.
