Evaluation – General Comments

This particular module was run directly after staff training on Databases.  We all found the staff training worthwhile and everyone felt confident in handling, what had appeared a difficult topic.  Confidence in one’s own abilities is essential if one is to tackle a topic such as this properly.

This evaluation may appear very short but that’s a good sign!  Staff were able to deal with any technical difficulties themselves, thus ensuring the smooth running of the module.

From the point of view of language development, the topic of Pets was a good one.  It was particularly suited to the fifth classes (Beginners).   The sixth classes would have done this topic the previous year, but the teachers did find it good for revision and expansion of vocabulary. (Teacher 1)

The logic of this module also appealed to the children.  It is a useful mechanism for the teachers to provide lists of vocabulary relevant to the children’s lives.

The module can be easily integrated with mathematics.  As the activities did not require much typing experience, the children managed to complete activities in a short space of time.  The younger children could master the same skills as the senior children with a little extra time (Teacher 2)
