E.S.B Environmental Awards 2000. - Clonown N.S.

We submitted the environmental work we had done during the year. In the autumn we planted trees and woodland plants in the oak wood. We planted daffodils too.

We continued our Programme of Litter and Waste Management with our Green Flag flying high. We planted strawberries using compost, which we had made from leaves. We recycled paper for art in activities like masks for Halloween and cribs for Christmas.

We integrated technology with our environmental work and entered the word documents, which we created. The judge was most interested in the story of the caterpillar, which changed into a cabbage white butterfly as the butterfly had emerged from the chrysalis on the day that he called!

We updated our website to include the work which we had done for the Green Schools Programme, including our Step-by-Step Action Plan.
