Treasa Naofa-Donore Ave.
PARTY -SCHOOL DIARY-28TH JUNE 2000
Very warm and sunny.
We had a salad party in the school garden today.
It was a huge success-very enjoyable. Children from infants to third ate
raw carrots, peas, lettuces, radishes and scallions.
First the vegetables were pulled up and washed in basins of water.
Then bread was buttered to make salad sandwiches. There was plenty of
salad cream and mayonnaise too for dipping.
They loved eating everything. Also
children from fifth dug up the new potatoes.
They were given to the children from first to take home.
These children sowed them in March.
It was wonderful to see the children enjoying the garden goodness.
The vegetable plot was empty in no time!
