November  is the month when all deciduous trees lose their leaves.Dumping or burning leaves is a waste.

Leaves should be collected and put into a container  to break down into leaf mould.

This container can be  a plastic bag with plenty of holes to allow air to reach the leaves .The bag must be tied on top.

Leave for about  one year .If you have a lot of leaves put

four stakes into the ground  in the form of a square.

Each side of the square should be approximately I metre long..

Wrap mesh wire  around three stakes to make a container.

Dump the leaves into this, wet them and let nature do the

rest.

This is called leaf mould. If can be used as a seed compost or to improve the soil .

2 Less waste in dumping  grounds.

3 Less methane gas released into the atmosphere from

dumps.

4 An increase in worm numbers.
