SOWING CHESTNUTS IN OUR CLASS

1.      We all collected 1 litre sized milk cartons.  We washed them out well before we brang them to school.

2.      Our teacher put holes in the bottom of the cartons with a knitting needle.

3.      On Friday 15^th October we took them down to the shed.

4.      We filled them nearly to the top with potting compost.

5.      We then soaked them with water.

6.      Next we put a conker in each carton.  We were told to push them down as far as twice their size.

7.      We then labelled our cartons with our names and the date.

8.      We brang them up to the class and put them in the coldest part of the classroom.

9.      We made sure to put plastic on top to keep the water in.
