Overall, we are very satisfied with our participation in the
SIP program and would like it to continue. The feeling among the staff is
that the school would not be in a position to finance laptops for a new class
each year. Consequently, the best compromise in the interim would be to pass
on our existing supply of laptops to next year's sixth year class to use for
one year. We feel that such a project as our one could be replicated and would
work subject to the following criteria:
1. Delivery of laptops by the September opening.
2. The pupils involved being computer literate, as a minimum, prior to starting LCA.
3. A network with a server is vital if work is to be transferable between students and teacher.
4. A majority of the staff members feeling confident of their abilities with IT to start.(you learn as you go along, as with all the best teaching)
