The President’s Visit
In Sept. ’98 the President, Mary McAleese, visited Fatima to launch the Corcoran Report, ’98. She visited the various projects in Fatima, including CADP.
State Recognition of CADP
In Nov. ’98 the then Minister for Education, Michael Martin, TD. accepted an
invitation to formally launch CADP. This was the beginning of a level of state recognition and commitment to CADP. At this time at National level there was increasing emphasis on Social Inclusion, which following lengthy negotiations resulted in funds being obtained for the post of Project Co-ordinator, for IT resources and for increased tuition fees (through VEC).
In March 2001 the post of Project Co-ordinator was publicly advertised
and, following on short-listing and the formal interview process, Sr.
Kathleen McLennan was appointed as the new co-ordinator of the Project.
Funding is being allocated through NAD. She takes up her position in Sept.
2001. Meanwhile Pauline Logue is acting as Project Co-ordinator.
