Dunmore Catchment Area Project - SIP079

Although the NCTE has devoted a lot of time and resources into encouraging the use of ICT in schools, technical difficulties and insufficient knowledge are two of the main factors preventing the everyday use of ICT in Irish National Schools.

The aim of SIP Project 079 is to provide ongoing Technical Support to each of the schools in the Dunmore Catchment Area. This is achieved by the provision of an IT Technician, on call, to the schools and who can help solve the problems that are occurring.

Training is also being provided to students and teachers in the use of E-mail, Internet, Chat Rooms, Discussion Forums and desktop publishing. A teacher in each school is also been taught basic technical problem solving.

We also have a detailed website at http://homepage.eircom.net/~dunmorecap.
